This is long, I apologize in advance!!
I have a 1998 Cadillac Catera &it stalls after about 15 mins of driving. It'll usually start right back up after a jump or if I let it set for half an hour or long it'll start but will die again after 15 mins. I took it in an Autoparts store & they hooked it up to a machine that checked the battery, starter & alternator..everything came back good. My dad also replaced the fuel filter & it ran great for about a week then it started doing the same thing again. We took it to a mechanic & after $250 for a diagnostics test, a new battery & an oil change!! They said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. We drove it home & the darn thing didn't even make it all the way home! I was pissed! We have another car so this one just sits but I used to start it up & drive it around the block a few times (before it would die) just to keep the car running but I recently had a baby & I don't trust driving around it in w/the baby so it's been parked for a few months. The other day we tried to jump start it & it wouldn't turn over. It'd sounded like it wanted and the lights & everything came on but it didn't.
I don't know what to do besides take it back in but I'm afraid of how much it'll cost. Any suggestions as to what I can do will be much appreciated! Let me know if you need any more info!
