9700 19.99 bis question

@ anfrey, I went from regular customer service to blackberry technical support because I was calling about a problem with my 8320. The support person was able to make it happen with the authorization of her supervisor, as well as note it in my account when I went to a corporate store.

*update* well went online yesterday to check my account balance and saw that I was still seeing the bb unlimited internet and not the bb add-on. Called up CS and asked them why didn't I get my add-on replaced..they said that due to the new phone I got (9700) that I have it required the upgraded service. So I said to them if I didn't upgrade and bought the phone retail and everything worked fine, the bb add-on is all I needed. They said to me that once the add-on is taken off, there was no way in the system that they can reinstate it which blows big time, because when I bought the phone, the salesman didn't tell me that I would loose the add-on service.

Don't you get unlimited text messages with the $24.99 plan? I have the 400 text message plan to accomodate my non BB friends who love to send me text messages. So with the 19.99 BIS and the 4.99 text message plan I would come out the same. Right?

checked our family plan, with 3 upgrades to the 9700 we still have the grandfathered plan with each one having the $19.99 BIS plan. When I first ordered the phone on my line the guy tried to get me to upgrade so it would use the 3G, but I told him no, we won't have 3G for a few more months so why pay for 3G we don't get, then he told me it would not work on th BB system if I upgraded my hardware and didn't switch plans. I told him I would upgrade if I needed to after getting the phone. Works on Edge fine, won't know on the 3G tell I go some place that has it, but in meantime I am enjoying the phone. It is faster. From what I have read here, looks like the old plan will work just fine with 3G. BTW 2 of the 3 new 9700's were picked up at the store.
