The owners manual for my car doesn't specify how often to get the timing belt changed. The intervals range anywhere from 30k-90k depending on what kind of vehicle, so please don't give me a generic answer unless you specifically know for the '97 Tracer, thanks!
Mike, like I stated in my question, if you don't know, don't answer! All '97 Tracers have the same 2.0L 4cyl, so it was unnecessary for me to mention that. You obviously didn't know that, so why did you answer? Jeez, some people.

Bert, I said timing belt change intervals can vary anywhere from 30k to 90k DEPENDING ON THE VEHICLE. Meaning, Chevy Aveo timing belt interval is 30k. My old Chrysler Lebaron is 90k mile interval. Make more sense now? For people who KNOW what it is for my specific car, can you please help?

it`s the same as the Ford escort with the same motor.

When the timing belt breaks, it KILLS the engine when the valves stop moving right where they are but the pistons keep moving, bending the valves and putting holes in the tops of the pistons.

It *might* last 90,000 miles, but do you really want to find out?

30,000 is way too low, I have never heard of that.

However the SAME motor for all the cars Except 97 Tracer says 100,000 miles.
