I have a 97 Honda Civic. It has a rough idle and will stall out whenever you are driving it. Check engine light is on. I will have it checked as soon as possible. I was told that a MAP sensor could be bad. Could this call the car to stall? It has a rough idle, it jerks, and it stalls. Give me a list of what it could be. Can the MAP sensor cause all of this? What about the IACV? What other sensors does this car have that could cause this? I don't think it has a MAF sensor.

civics do not have a maf, they run off a map. its common for the idle on a civic to jump around and sputter when they need a map replaced, as far as the idle air Controller valve, its possible. but if that was your problem it would stop when you were driving, it would just have problems on the get go. check all your vacuum lines in your engine bay, there should be a vacuum wiring diagram sticker on your firewall. check that first then go from there.
