I have a high mileage 97 Accord LX and I have a rather peculiar issue with the oil pressure. After the car has been running for about 15 minutes, and is allowed to sit and idle for about five minutes after that, the temperature gauge raises rapidly and my oil pressure light begins to blink (more like twitch, as its random and obviously close to its threshold) However, when I pull out and drive on the road again, the temperature gauge drops to the normal center level, and the light no longer blinks.
I will of course take it in the a mechanic ASAP and have this resolved. Of course if it were a trivial issue I could resolve myself, Im never opposed to save on outrageous labor fees. Any ideas?
