Ok so my car a 97 honda accord 4cyl SE trim, is burning up with little or minimum driving if any at all (idle). The temperature meter shoots up to the red and there is large amounts of smoke comming from under the hood (approximately from the right side passenger area). What the hell is the problem ive gotten my oil changed and flushed and the whole works. I really cant afford to junk this car because i am short of money and this car has never given me problems so this was surprizing and weird.

Are you certain the thermostat isn't blocked or bad? Start your car and touch the upper radiator hose. If the hose is blazing hot you need to have the cooling system serviced, if the hose is cold/warm, and your dash says the car is getting hot, then you have a bad thermostat.
If it is the thermostat you can either take it out completely, or go to an auto parts store and spend less than 10 bucks and get a new one. Real easy to install, usually 2-3 bolts on the thermostat housing.
Also, check the coolant level.

My old car had that same issue. It would start to overheat esp. in heavy traffic. I figured out it was slowly leaking coolant. I didn't really do anything to fix the problem I just checked/filled the coolant very often. If your lucky a coolant leak is the problem and then you just have to check that more often.

dude you gotta check the radiator im guessing when you check it's gonna be empty or really low. fill it up, if the next day its empty or low you probably have a leak. not an extremely expensive fix. DONT OPEN THE RADIATOR CAP IF THE ENGINE'S HOT. you'll be a VERY unhappy camper. boiling fluid will splash out and burn you. give the car at least 40 mins to cool down.

Blown head gasket? Sounds like you either have no coolant left or your head gasket is blown. Either way you need to stop driving it and have it towed in before you cause major damage if you havent already.

your fuel pump is probably not working. have you checked your fan belt to make sure it's not broke. when the car is cool, open the radiator and see once it warms up of the water is flowing like a river. if not, your fuel pump is not working. if it is than i think your thermostat might be stuck
