I have a 97 ford f 150 4.2 v6. There was water and antifreeze in the engine. I think it is head gasket but I drained the oil. I don't know if it starts anymore. But I have new plugs oil and oil filter. Can I put new oil in it and filter and plugs and see if it starts without antifreeze and water. Because if it will start then I will take it and have new gaskets out on it but don't want to pay for new gaskets and it not run. Will starting it for a few seconds without coolant hurt it to bad or will it start without the coolant. What should I do. If it comes to it I will just get a new engine if the block is cracked.
