i have 97 ford explorer. the heater blows but doesnt blow hot. it blows cold air through. cant find a reason why. the thermastat is good. if you know why or how to fix please tell me
You will have to determine if it's a cooling system problem or a blend air door concern. I have run into a few of these that have a control problem in the blend door inside the plenum - and it's generally a rather time consuming fix. Can you hear any unusual noises under the dash when you change the selector from hot to cold?
Once engine warms up, make sure heat guage is up, you can also put your hands on the heater hoses and see if they are hot, if they are not hot heater won't heat, if they are hot, either blend door motor is stuck or heater core is blocked
