I have a 97 neon that had a bad cam seal. i put the new seal in and new t-belt and put it all back together. It ran perfect. No leaks and purred like a kitten. So i backed it out of the garage and let it sit there for a min or two. (checking for leaks). just as I started to walk away it died and would not start back up. so pushed it back into the garage and took it all back apart to check the timing. everything is spot on. Now i have checked sensors and grounds and connections. but still nothing... And yes there is gas.. and the pump works. I checked. and I can smell fuel when I crank it. The bad part is I have been a mechanic for over ten yrs but this one has got me stumped.. i have even went out and bought the book to see what it says.. nothing yet.
That is what I thought of after I posted. I took the coil connector off and hooked the test light to the pos terminal and checked both of the grounds while cranking it. nothin. so my guess is prob. my PCM
