97 Dodge Intrepid engine dies randomly, then will turn over but won't start, and after

15 minutes starts fine.? I was driving this 1997 Dodge Intrepid without a single problem or weird noise. Then last night I left a mall and it started right up. About 5 minutes later it died at a light but restarted without a problem. Then about 5 minutes after that as I was getting onto the freeway, the car died again. I pulled over and tried to restart it, but the engine would turn over and wouldn't start. I waited 15 minutes, tried again, and it started right up. I got back onto the freeway, drove about a mile and it died again. I tried waiting to start it again and after about 15 minutes it restarted without a problem. This happened about 2 more times till the car kept running and I was able to get to a friends place. The car was parked overnight for about 12 hours and in the morning it started right up without a problem. I drove it about 8 miles to my house without it dying or anything. About 3 hours later as I was driving to work, I got onto the freeway and the car died again. I waited 15 minutes, pumped the gas pedal, and the car started right up. I drove it off the freeway and it died again as I stopped at a red light, but it started right up when I tried. Right after that, my friend took the car and drove it for more than an hour on streets and the freeway without it dying a single time. What's going on with this car??? Help!
