I recently just had the tire rod and brakes done on my car and I know I need an alighnment(have not had time to get it to mechanic) but just a few hours ago I was driving and turned a corner and when I turned a weird sound came from the tires(something grinding) it only happens when I turn my wheel to the left and when I drive 5-10mph... What could it possible be? Do you think its dangerous to drive with it? I'm really hoping its not the axle.. Please help

It sure sounds like either a CV joint is going or there is a wheel bearing problem. If the drive axle was that bad that it grinds more then likely if you checked the boosts the rubber pieces on the drive axle one or more would be showing signs of stretching or damage like a hole or the clamp has come loose etc.

It might be a good idea to shop around for the part bec the drive axle can vary in price and most parts store are selling it as a rebuild part with a core value.Core value is the value of the old part and they have the old part rebuilt to re-sell it.If it's the wheel bearing it maybe a good idea to just change the hub assembly.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way it be a good idea to have a mechanic/shop conduct a free front end check, this way they can explain and show you exactly whats what.Note if the grinding sound gets worse you know that it's not a good idea to drive it until the work is done.
