Put about 3 gallons of fuel in tank. I also bled off any excess air via the schrader valve on the fuel rail. I can hear the pump coming on to pressurize the system, but truck still will not turn over. Now the battery is showing about 9-12 volts and getting weaker with every crank. In addition, smelled sulfur last night when i was trying to crank it with fuel in the tank. Should i try to prime system with some ether or is it a combination of bad fuel filter and battery?

You got it right. It's most likely a clogged fuel filter. Change that out, and jump start it.
