I have a 97 buick lesabre with the 3800, it had a bad miss and it seemed like it ran on 4 cylinders, I gave it a tune up, plugs and wires. now it will run good when it is not having to work but as soon as it is starts to get under a load you can feel it start to miss on one cylinder and then it drops it either completely or it might even drop 2 of them,, does anyone have any ideas for me? I did pull the codes on it and it only shows a misfire, I am starting to think that it is one of the coil packs but I always thought that a coil was either good or bad, nothing in between... any ideas would be greatfully appreciated. I really have to get this running good again. thanks for all the help
I have taken compression test all cylinders are good and very close to the same, within 5 pounds. I have considered this to be the intake leaking but not sure, I haven't checked with that yet, I am still convinced that it is a spark issue but I could be wrong, the gentleman that said to think about the intake has a good point, so I would like to ask him if he thinks it could be a coil pack that has gone bad, Is there a way that I can test to see if it is the intake gasket? thanks.
