97' Buick Century vs 97' Saturn LS?

I currently have a 97' Buick Century with 95K miles. I have taken very good care of it (flushed radiator, transmission, brake lines, and replaced fuel filter every 2 years; oil change every 3,000 miles; air filters and pcv valve every year). I'm getting oil in my cooling system, but the car is still running cool. I plan on replacing the head gaskets, water pump, timing chain, radiator, and overflow bottle in August myself. This is a 3-day job and will cost me about $400-$500.

My grandmother will sell her 97' Saturn LS (manual) with 57K miles to me for $1,000. It has not been moved in 2 years and has the check engine light on. I will need to purchase 4 new tires, plugs/wires, fuel filter, air filter, pcv valve, flush radiator, flush transmission, flush brake lines, change oil, and possibly replace the fuel tank.

Both require an equal amount of work. I'm leaning towards getting the Saturn because it is easier to work on and gets more mpg; but the Buick has been good to me and is very comfortable to drive. Should I stick with the Buick or take the Saturn?
