96' Toyota Tacoma Starting problem?

I have a 96 toyota tacoma pickup truck 2.7 engine. 4x4 4 cylinder. The truck runs good for the millage and suff but when running and the temp hand gets in the middle as it should , and you go to shut it off, it will not start again for 2 hrs.. Until the temp hand gets in the cold area... What would be the cause...Our local advance auto said it could be the crank sensor or temp sensor so we bought both and put them on didn't help any... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks
