96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
Recently has the fuel pump changed, (New Airtex E7099M whole pump & housing) and it works, but my fuel gauge stays on "E" even with gas in it.
If the pump is working and is the right pump, Can it be installed wrong? What mistakes should I look for?
the mechanic did a rush job on it and I believe its "installed wrong".

How do I check the ground?
The sending unit is brand new.
"sending unit" as it the pump or float?
OK, then I turn the key on, the gas needle jumps a bit, and the gas light is on.
Correction, when I turn the key on, the gas needle jumps a bit and the gas light is on.
I also thought that,,, maybe the float is stuck down.....
