96 honda civic turn key and nothing not even a clicking noise?

I have a 1996 civic ex manual this morning I went to start the car and nothing happen.I checked the battery tried hitting the starter all the lights work the air turns on no check engine lights or warning sign are on saying anything is wrong with the car but they work..Finally I had someone push the car and I turned it on with the clutch how ever when I turned off the car and tried to restart it nothing...It make no noise what so ever when I turn the key not even a clicking like when its the starter...or a noise where it tries to start when its the battery.Ive never had this happen just want to see if anyone knows what this might be from.Thanks
