Automatic transmission disengage from drive on every stop. Have to shift to neutral then back to drive to make it move. I can drive the car on disabling the over drive, this can avoid the transmission disengagement from every stop, this cause the engine rpm very high. Whats wrong. When engine is cold, I must place the transmission on 2nd gear to move the car, once the car start to move, it will run on drive or drive with over drive disabled. The reverse is ok. AMMCO said I need a new transmission. I want to have transmission tune up, can,t find any shop offer tune up. Need help.

It's been my experience that this symptom is most often caused by a cracked forward drum inside the transmission. The good news is that you don't need a "new transmission" - the bad news is that you need this one overhauled.
Eventually, this transmission will fail completely.
