96 Chevy 1/2 ton auto tranny question?

My truck is shifting hard into 2nd only second I mean really hard I can only compare it to half throttle and dropping it into gear hard
 
It sounds as though the valve body is plugged or clogged. I would suggest changing fluids and filters, and flushing the system. That may cure your problems. I have never had much luck but others have. My best bet to you is to take it to a transmission shop and have them flush out the transmission and change the springs in the valve body. Good luck.
