96 buick wont start help?

we just bought the car the guy told me it had been sitting for 3 weeks and it started no problem...i drove it home from nh to maine about (50 miles i parked it over night and now it wont start. we tried getting it jump started and it would start what else could be wrong?
IT WOULD NOT START WHEN WE TRIED TO JUMP START IT
it does crank but thats about it
no i dont think i had running lights on
 
Have the battery tested at any auto part store. That is probably the problem, they go bad when the car sits for a while.
