95 Ford Escort Problems?

I was on my way out and when I started the car it stalled a little bit, but once I revved the gas the car was fine. When I was driving I could here what seemed to be a small clicking as if there was a baseball card on the back of a bike tire....well sure enough I went to stop and the car conked out. When I started it I got it to go for a bit, but the noise was even louder...once again the sound was as if a baseball card was on the back of a bike tire coming from under the hood. It sounds like it isn't getting gas, can anyone help me?

not good . same when I owned one - cam belt had snapped resulting in bent valves . get it looked at , DONT try to run it .

Dude that sounds bad. Have you changed your oil lately? Sounds like a valve problem. Ticking under the hood is never a good thing. I had a 93 Corolla that had very similar problems. One day it was resisting alot, and felt like it wasnt getting gas either. The motor was leaking oil and I had starved that motor of oil. It might be your alternator too. If you have been up on oil changes, best thing to do is bring it in.
