So I've been left with the task of getting my Friend's car fixed while he is away, it is a 95 Fort Escort and here's what is wrong with it.
Occasionally, (usually when stopping for a red light) ;/ it wil sort of choke.
The fuel meeter wil show like, no gas. I mean the pin falls down to bottom left position, and it refuses to start.
For the most part after a stop, I can get it to start for a little while, like 3-10 sec, but it wil choke again.
sometimes I can get it to run without stopping so long as I don't use the gas pedal at all. (for some reason if I use the gas-flip thingy in the engine I can get it to wroom wroom a bit faster/louder, but if I attempt to put it in gear and go forward it stops. (as you can probably hear I am no mechanic).
Now some times it wil just work again after a while, and run fine for a few hours.
And some times it wil just stop even igniting, and rather just make that click-click-click-click noise when I try starting it.
So I've had it to various repair shops a number of times, each time they think they've found out what was causing it.
1st they changed the spark-plugs. - it ran for a while and it happened again.
2nd they changed the cables and those holsters for the spark plugs, + the battery. That helped on how the engine runs, much nicer, but it still happened again.
3rd they where certain it was because of that.. emergency break-off switch thing for the gas-pump's power cable, located to the left of the pedals inside the wall.
supposedly teh previous owner had tightened something down there to much when installing some more cables for a stereo in the backseat.
So they fixed that, and it seemed to be going great.. and now, it happened again. sigh,
Could like, the whole gaspump be broken? or any other suggestions?
This car is killing me, and so is havin to call for a towing service in the middle of a bussy crossroad every other day hehe.
