Some ways to check the starter is:
1) Remove starter and take it to Autozone to test the solenoid and starter.
2) Using a test light or volt meter check to make sure that the starter is receiving key on power as well as crank power.
3) Jump a power source to the positive side of the starter to see if it turns over. You can do this without a key but you need a charged battery.

For all your parts needs I would try a u wrench it salvage yard where you take the parts of yourself. This is the cheapest way to get parts.

Anyone know a way to check to see if it's the starter on my honda that is bad? But with out the key. The key is lost and the battery is bad. So first I need to find a cheap battery.
I would just like to hopefully check the starter first.
Also know where I can get a cheap starter, key and battery for a 94 Honda Accord EX Vtech?

If you remove the starter and take it to Auto Zone they can do a bench test on it for free and let you know if it's good or bad.
