93 Honda Civic -Rebuild Engine?

Its 850 to replace head gasket and 1100 to rebuild the engine the car on ly has 125, 000 miles on it
I was told I have an internal leak in my head gasket and that i need to replace it. Then I heard you should just rebuild your whole engine that way you insure no more problems. Is this true?

Never, never let someone rebuild your engine. It will always cost you less in the long run and give you a better engine to have a factory long block put in. It's like a new engine, and one that a local guy rebuilt would be a huge gamble.
For a 93 Civic.......Uh....I'm not sure I'd be pouring money into that old guy. There are a lot of other things worn out and ready to go on it.

well as long as its an internal leak and not a cracked head then a head gasket would suffice but for the extra money id rebuild it...im a technician myself whos rebuilt 5 motors without an problems..they guy who said get a factory long block is wronge about local techs rebuilding engines...its not hard if ur experianced and a long block would be WAY more than a rebuild most likely and also is wouldnt be NEW it would be REMANUFACTURED aka REBUILT! Almost no companys sell NEW parts anymore..
