93 Honda civic how to remove/install upper windshiield molding?

I have noticed the upper windshield molding not meeting flush with the body. I have alot of pine trees and some piine needles have worked their way under the lip. I want to know if I could remove the molding, clean the area and reinstall the molding without compromising something else. If so, what may be involved? Just pry it out and push it back in?

special tools are usually required to remove window moldings. the clips can break easy and molding bends easy. you should be able to get the tools at auto parts store or the snap on truck.
