Ok. Classic . manual trans. 4 cylinder. went to just clicking at the solenoid one day. this has happened before, replaced the battery, nothing, still the click.Whaaaa? changed out the perfectly good solenoid on the fender, still just the click. removed the starter took it in to be tested, its works fine! replaced the once worked on red battery wire to the starter with a new, un-corroded one, making sure to also hook up the second, lighter guage wire that hooks up at the battery as well, and guess what happened? . . . . . .click! nothing! So to test the clutch switch(i know it has another name!) i turned the key all the way, as to start it, then pushed in the clutch and heard the solenoid click, so i assume the "clutch switch" works. so heres the deal, new battery, new fender solenoid, new wire from battery to starter Bendix, apparently working "clutch switch" (sorry) and a starter that tested as good, i watched it working in the tester! So im left with, maybe the starter is bad after all, and the tester is wrong? Unless someone can come up with something im missing, im getting a starter anyway. Any ideas? HELP!
Oh yea, it roll starts just fine, and everything else electrical works, Lights, door dinger, radio,AC Etc.
