9241, Free Install, 25% credit

The website offered this "deal" to me so I called them up and ordered it on 3/6. She told me I would receive the full credit on my next bill.

It was installed on 3/16 and I think most of the minor glitches have been ironed out. My bill arrived, dated 3/24, and, not surprisingly, no credit, although they certainly managed to add the HD programming charges! Conveniently, none of the paperwork actually documents that discount so that doesn't help. Should I be yelling at them or are they just slow?

On a semi-related note, the technician provided the switch and LNB to get things operational and another one arrived in the mail yesterday. I'm not complaining about that, but is that normal?

Thanks,

Kevin

The billing is normal. Or at least, consistent with mine.
I ordered my 9242 with a 50% discount last August, had it installed Labour Day weekend, the full $600 appeared on my bill in mid-September, and the $300 credit appeared on my bill in October.

I was not aware that an existing Customer could get a "Deal" using the Bell Web Site....

From what I understand the offer is on the table fro existing customers whos contract has expired. A 2 year contract must be agreed upon in order to get the 25% credit. And the unit must be ordered directly with Bell. That is the part that I don't agree with. I was in this exact situation last week. My contract had expired and I was looking at adding an additional HD PVR to my account. Well, the 25% savings was not worth the 2 week wait to get the receiver installed so I purchased the unit at Best Buy and installed it myself. It cost me more but I was up and running the next day. BTW, with no contract signed.

What can I say? I was logged in with my credentials and the site offered it under Promotions. I confirmed that and ordered it on the phone just to clarify some details.

My options were somewhat limited:

1. $499 purchase from Bell minus $125 credit, free install, 2 year contract.

2. $499 purchase from local retailers, without switch/LNB/coax, a good possibility of the unit not being in stock, self-install in the cold/snow, and no contract.

There wasn't much wait for an installation date but I scheduled for 9 days later due to *my* availability. Seemed like a no-brainer to me. :)

I'll give them another month on the credit before I raise a stink.

Thanks.
