I have a TV that is about 18 years old. I want to connect it to the 2nd output from my 9200. The problem is that I cannot get a clear picture. There is a lot of noise. I use to use Shaw cable with no problems. When I connect to another old but smaller TV, I get a clear picture. Both of these TVs are the same brand (GE) but the smaller one may be a bit newer. Is there an issue using this receiver with older TVs?

You have to set the output modulator channel on the 9200, then tune your TV to that channel. They do that so you can combine it with Cable or OTA, without interfereing with a channel you want.
I tried it and found out the 9200 puts out a very high RF signal. Some TV's may be overloaded with that high RF. I used a 6 dB attenuator and that works fine.

I do have the TV tuned to the correct channel. I am using an RF modulator with this TV. It works a bit better if I plug the coaxial directly to the TV and not use the modulator. The funny thing is that when I plug the coaxial into the RF modulator, I can already start seeing the channel on the TV, even though I have not yet connected the RF modulator to my TV. It seems like the TV is picking up a signal over the air. I can see that it's the expressvu signal, and not some OTA signal.

Anyone else used an attenuator to solve this problem?

I just wasted $5 on an attenuator but I was able to get around the problem. I apologize for not knowing the terminology but I had to connect my coaxial to one of those prong thingys that you screw on to the back of your TV. I don't know why this works but it does and I'm happy.

Glad you sorted things out. I believe you're talking about a balun, which converts 75 ohm cable to 300 ohm "antenna".
