my mazda mx3 started up just fine but then the idle spiked to about 35000 rpms so i turned off my car and attempted to turn it back on but it wouldnt turn over. this happened last night so i waited till this morning to try it again and it turned on just fine but again the rpms soared. i then played with the accelerator under the hood and managed to drop my rpms down too 2000 so i decided to try and turn my car off and back on but again it wont start. any ideas what could cause this?
i recently brought my car in to get a smog check and it failed and ever since has been smelling of exhaust idk if this has anything to do with it but i thought id include it
