a friend of mine has a '92 honda civic that while driving it, a loud bang or pop went off and her check engine light came on and soon after her car just stopped (stalled). Now whenever she starts the car, it sounds like it wants to start up but the crank just keeps spinning. Spinning quite fast actually. Now after hearing this, I suspected that maybe she blown a valve, causing a loss in compression, resulting in the quick spinning of the crank. Could this be the cause? What could have blown? And how much would you think it would cost to fix it?
