92 honda civic acting weird?

ok so my civic is pretty good runs great, but lately it has been making a weird idle noise, when i come to a stop ans im there for 20 seconds its idleling normal but then it make a loud noise and then goes away, and sometimes when i strart it, it feels likeits coming from the muffler and sometimes it wants to die out, its a pu pu pu pu noisse
