92 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Engine.?

They're selling me a 5.0 for $2000 but they said the only problem is the rings. I have no idea what that even is. im guessing piston rings? How much does it cost to fix it? Is it worth it.. it would be my first car.

Should i take it?
he said the car is running but rough
 
to fix that would mean rebuilding the motor.you can find used ones for around 600-800 dollars.if it is a daily driver then you might want to pass that one on
