...shut off for a short time.? I have replaced the starter and the battery, It will start up fine in the morning, and after work when it has sat all day. But if I drive it, shut it off, and try to restart during a short time period, it won't start. Got any ideas?

Get a voltmeter and check the battery while the car won't start. It's supposed to be 12 volts. If it's less than ten volts, the battery isn't being charged by the alternator. A strong battery will come back after a long rest, that's why it will start after sitting a longtime but not a stort one. If you want to see simply is your alternator works, check the battery right after you start the car and you should see it measure close to 14 volts. If there's only 12 or less, your alternator is a suspect in the mischief.
