91 Honda civic brake lights wont turn off.?

I have a 91 honda dx sedan and when i press the brake the lights do not get brighter to signify that i am braking and when i turn off the car and release the brake the brake lights still stay on.I have to disconnect the battery in order for them to turn off.How can i fix this?will it be expensive?THANK YOU ALL!!!
 
brake light switch is just above the brake pedal easy to replace it one nut and one wire about 10 minutes prices vary but cheap
