If anyone can help, it will be greatly appreciated.
I have a 91 explorer with manual transmission. when I take my foot off the clutch it sounds like the tranny's grinding, and when I press in the clutch it sounds normal. Also when driving in all gears except 4th, the tranny sounds like a airplane winding up, but in 4th gear it sounds completely normal. I use mercon V fluid as the dealer recommends but there are some metal bits in the fluid.
Does anyone know where my problem may be? Or please give me any information that may help.
