91 Chrysler New Yorker Transmission Problems. Will a flush help?

I recently acquired a 91 Chrysler New Yorker from my aunt. When I first got the car, my transmission was shifting very late when it was cold, and would jump into limp mode if I accelerated too quickly or slowed down from highway speed. I replaced the transmission filter and about 1 1/2 gallons of fluid andI'm still having the same problems. A family friend said I needed to get a transmission flush. Do you think this will fix my problem.

No, but if I'm not mistaken, ford C-4 C-6 and some Chryslers have an adjustment on the side of the tranny, a bolt with a jam nut on it, if you find it, loosen jam nut tighten until it just feels finger tight and back off a quarter turn and tighten jam nut. Hope you have one if not, look for a rebuilt or used tranny on ebay motors.
