Started blowing black smoke on hilly terrain. Turned out it was probably transmission fluid hitting the exhaust. I was in the boonies, and tried to get closer to civilization before it died completely. Started slipping on the last bad grade, and I parked it. When I looked underneath, tranny fluid was pouring out, but the fluid didn't look or smell burnt. The clock's been around twice, but I just put a new radiator, brakes and heater core in it, so if it is salvageable at a reasonable price, I'd prefer to do so. I have since put fluid in it and I didn't see a drip, but it barely goes forward and reverse is even worse. Is it totaled, or what? I don't want to throw good money after bad. Is it worth the expense of towing it to a shop and having it checked out, or not? Toast?
