8910 sub lcd screen

I just bought a new 8910 and i love it except for the screen thats on top. normally it switches between showing verizon wireless and the time and date, which is annoying because i use my phone as a watch and id like it if i could set it to continually display the time and date. but more importnatnly i want to know if theres away to remove the animation it shows when people call that looks like a little girl trying to use the force to get the phone to her.
 
To remove the Verizon Wireless from the sub screen go into the menu and press the following: 7>6>4 You should be setting the ERI banner if you did it right, turn that to off, and it's gone. As for the retarded girl I don't know but I would like to get rid of her myself.
 
I have the same phone anybody know how to make the phone switch between clock and my name? instead of clock and Verizon? I know how to make it show just the clock.
 
Is the girl on the sub lcd too?

I don't have a Verizon 8910, but I had once read that a firmware hack was necessary to stop the benner flash on the sub lcd. Is that not true?
