8900 GPS...charges?

Does anyone know if TMo charges anything for using the built in GPS receiver in the Curve 8900?

I have heard mixed answers, but am wondering what any of you have found.

No, T-mobile does not charge for use of GPS. You do have to have a data plan in order to be able to use mapping services until someone loads the software and maps on an SD card.

Indeed I am in the 8900 users club...and I LOVE it!!! Traded up from my 8320 (one my wife still has and it's a solid phone).

TMo, for me has the best prices on the market for BB data plans and their coverage is excellent for where I live and travel to usually .

Man, they really should do that because I would think it would be "easier" on the phone in terms of all that processing work trying to pull in the map through data transfer, but of course, one would have to think about SD memory space and usage then (for music, movie, and picture junkies ).

I remember reading a couple of months back about a company that is working on loading the app installer and US maps onto a 2gb memory card to be used in the new smartphones with GPS for those that want access without using the network. I don't know what the status is and can't for the life of me remember the company name.

The Storm isn't GSM compatible I believe...that's a CDMA (Verizon exclusive) phone.

To answer your question, you may want to check ebay or craigs list (locally, in my opinion).
