I have an 89 Toyota Celica ST with a Syncromesh transmission. Shifting has gotten difficult without double clutching. I was told to use regular transmission fluid in it some months ago because the trans-case was low on oil. Now I'm experiencing difficulty shifting into all gears.
My wife doesn't know how to double clutch but I do. When I do, it's easy to shift. But without doing that it requires little more force to move into gear. This occurs at all speeds, so I believe the syncros are going (or gone).
She put a new engine in about 6 or 7 years ago but I don't think she replaced the transmission.
What's your advice?
