I went to go up town one day... started the truck... heard a weird noise and the truck died. I tried starting again, started fine.
I drove up town, stopped at a few places (restarting the truck), then stopped at a friends and went to knock on his door (left the truck on bc no one was there). While I was at the door the truck died, I ignored it and kept rining the door. When I got back to the truck, it turned over and would not restart.
I got some starter fluid, sprayed it in the upper intake, it fired up (shortly dying after). I then tried turning it over without starter fluid again, nothing. Ahh, fuel problem. Checked gas, over a quarter of a tank.
Towed it home. Checked the inertia switch first, bc this fuel pump is only a year old or so. Checked for noise from Fuel Pump, no noise. Went through the pain staking measure of taking the gas tank off. Momentarily touched the fuel pump to the battery, no life. Bought a new fuel pump, touched it to the battery, it whistled just fine.
I put the new pump in (just the pump, old assembly) and hooked it back up, also threw on a new fuel filter for SnG's. Tried to turn it over, turned over just fine, no start. Listened for the fuel pump to kick on, did like it was supposed to. Tried to start it with starter fluid again, starts (but dies). So I took the line off from the Gas Tank to the fuel filter, (took it off right at the filter, fuel tank side) and had someone kick the key forwards.. no gas is coming out.
Also checked the Fuel Pump Relay 'FUSE' in the Distro box, wasn't blown. Checked under the distro box for the switch, no way to test if it was working or not. But the fuel pump turns on, so I wasn't sure if that could be it.
