My Fleetwood (RWD) is not charging off the alternator. The battery light on the dash does not come on either, whether it be right when you turn the key (self test) or while the car is running or driving. New starter, alternator, and battery freshly installed by mechanic. Wires to these new components are in good shape and have good connections. Car runs great untill the battery dies! 307 V8 vin code "y".
#1 Is the battery light crucial in completing some circuit in the charging system?
#2 Could just replacing the bulb make my new alternator charge?
#3 Is there anything else I should be looking at besides just replacing the bulb on the dash? (besides the obvious... junking the old thing!)
#4 Can I just bypass the the bulb @ the alternator. it looks like only 2 wires.. One to the battery.. and the small clip connector i'm assuming goes to the light.
I'm running out of ideas.... Thanks for your help.
