i went to tmobile today, and the girl said the 8800 got discontinued. and they will be coming out with the curve HOPEFULLY by the end of the quarter.

Rogers' 8800 is still hot. I don't imagine the 8800 would be discontinued this quickly. I've seen stranger things happen though, keep us posted.

they probably don't want to take potential sales from their soon to be released 8320, which has the ability of UMA and could gain more clients into their @home service. it's a pretty smart move by them. the 8800 was bound for failure on tmo seeing its geared towards the business crowd and no serious business would base their BES on tmobile.

they didnt discontinue the 8800 just the authorized dealers dont carry them because they cant afford to so they are going to tell you that they dont have them anymore so you will buy something else..... just keep that in mind

Normally I would have just ignored this comment and moved along but that was a very ignorant comment.

I am not sure about the availability of the 8800s for you guys but T-Mobile has had the 8800 on backorder for over a month now.

They did remove it from the Upgrades section of the website a while back, but you can still buy it outright for now. I wonder how many they actually did sell versus the numbers for Pearl and Curve.

I work directly with Corporate, and they do have quite a stock of them...

I actually walked into a corporate store earlier just to verify it, because i work as an exclusive dealer, and they have roughly 6 per store, and all of my stores have at least 2 just in case. the same way some of the autorized dealers dont have any T-Mobile Wings....

no to be rude...but most authorized dealers really cant profit off of the 8800's and they do tell people that they are discontinued because the people that work there really dont know any different because of the fact that they sell pretty much everything.

I was told that they were discontinued by an authorized dealer about 2 weeks ago and i just orderd more, so I think before people shoot their mouths off to customers they should know the information they are releasing, because i played stupid trying to get the guy a job, and he screwed up almost every price plan, and had to pull out a brochure to try and explain the plans, and didnt even know if the blackberry was capable of internet.... those kinds of people should not be selling phones. oops...
