88 Ford Mustang LX 5.0?

My uncles got a 88 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 and it had quite some rust damage. I dont also think it would pass the test to bring it from alberta to saskatchewan. I really like this car and want it as my first car but im not sure if its worth the money.
What do you think? Should i spend on it?
