My friends Truck has been at the body shop for 8 months where i work now. well the fuel pump went out and it was parked for over 5 months with the hood off and the air filter assembly off. water got in the oil got in the carburetor and they poured sprite inside the carburetor today cause it caught on fire with starting fluid lol.

So i know we need to change the oil but todays the first day its started in a while and it idles good but when you rev it up it bogs if you hold it floored in park it slowly revs all the way up.

And when we put it into drive or reverse we flood it and it just moves at like 1mph no fast and if half gas it wont move just sits their struglin badly.

at idle it runs great and revs up good to just a little slow n sloppy but under a load it justs sits their. i took it down the road and it would NOT go over 1 MPH.

What could had happened? what is causing these problems? i know the oil isn't.

Thanks!
its carburetor and is a 5.3L V8.
also, i broke 2 of the vaccum lines that went to the fuel pump. so only the return lines i think and main line is connected.

Could this be the problem? i think all the others do is let out pressure?
