The car stalls at traffic lights when warmed up. Also has horrible stinky emissions. Runs fine when its cold. Took it in and they found a code for failed MAF sensor. Replaced MAF still saying it failed. Now they say it needs a new computer. Also they said all other readings are way off. I dont want to replace computer.

1) Could a bad O2 sensor cause the computer to flip out?

2) Can I somehow make it run in open loop forever? It cant be worse than it is. I am getting about 12MPG now.

I dont care about doing it right. I just want this car to get around for a while.

If I unplug the O2 and it makes no difference does that mean its a bad O2

A new computer is alot to shell out for an I hope this fixes it
