when I put on my left directional with the lights on ,my tailights(left directional and brake light both blink at the same time)???

There is a sending unit right beside the master cylinder. If the sending unit is burned out then the red brake light will appear on your dash. Before you try to locate the sending unit pull up on the emergency brake and make sure that it is in the full up position. This could also cause the brake light to remain on. Good luck.

I would guess you have a short in the wiring. At 22 years old this is not unexpected.

Tom:

I don't know if this is the problem but I have seen it twice lately. Check all of the running, brake, tail, and signal bulbs. If you have any bulbs with two filament check them closely. I have seen two of these type bulb burn out one filament, have it drop across the other and it ties all the stuff together. It can make for some very weird light problems. If you don't have twin filament bulbs then disregard this answer.

Good luck, shorts (and that's what you have) are fun to find...
