i know to take ny fuel filtter off and turn the key if gas comes out the fuel ump works,if noit it don't.i turn yhe key it didn't come out, there for i need a fuel pump!BUT i turn the key and it wouldn't STOP trying to turn over!another word for it;it would NOT become disengaged.it did notr crank-start up.just the no fire sound.is this enough for you?
it would run if the fuel pump was working.the fuel pump doesn't work.

Let me get this right You went to see if your fuel pump was out. When you turn the key on it runs? or is it when you turn the key off it is still running? Need to a bit more clear here.

chances are your fuel pump is bad but you could have bad wiring that has caused a problem with the starter and stopped the fuel pump from working. You can try the reset switch someone suggested but i have never had one of those trip off on me but anything is possible. Disconnect your battery for a few minutes and try it again if you get the exact same symptoms you got a wiring problem.

two seperate items here and may be caused by each other. your starter solinoid is stuck and this is why it is constant cranking. some times when a person has been trying and trying to start an engine they cause the switch to stick as you are experiancing. now about your fuel pump issue, Ford has a switch a reset switch, rather sensative that has been known to trip from minor bumps in parking lots etc. its called an inertia switch. they put them in various places some were in the trunk behind a panel, some were put in the cabin under the dash, just out of legs reach so you dont kick them. your ford Parts department can look up where yours is located and then you look for it and push back in the center button to reset the switch.
