I don't really know how to describe the noise but I guess it would be a like a plastic flap smacking against something. I usually only hear it when I'm letting the truck roll at low speeds, usually around 5-15 mph. Are the wheel bearing going bad?
On a side note, the housing on the alternator is stripped, should I find someone with the tools to drill a new hole or just buy a new one all together? The alternator stays on but I just can't tighten it enough to keep the belt from squealing.
I usually don't hear the noise until after I've been out driving for a bit. Once I pull into a parking lot or somewhere that requires low speeds I can then hear it.
