8100 Pearl T-Mobile upgrade patch September 2007 TYPE PROBLEM

I got a message from T-mobile to go to their website to download a patch for my Pearl 8100. I downloaded it and all of a sudden I've been having problems with typing. Especially in text messages. For example: when I try to type "keeps screwing up for some" it looks like this "keeps screwuung up for aaome". I've never had a prob with the keys before. I thought this upgrade was supposed to improve type functions. Someone please tell me what's wrong and how to fix it. PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE SO I KNOW YOU HAVE RESPONDED. Thanks!!
 
hey weclome to the stacks. yeah i answered this one in the free upgrade forum. you must be using multi tap. it's an issue i'm having but not enough t-mobile customers who are having this problem have called in and reported it, so if we get some more customers who call in about the issue maybe it can be fixed
 
I wrote T-mobile about this days ago and still haven't heard anything. Has anyone talked to them about this and gotten a reply from them? Thanks!
 
Area51;439555']I think that's what he meant, actually. You upgraded to the latest tmo OS for the pearl and are now experiencing multitap problems.

There are many threads about this issue and alot of us are aware. All the 4.2.1 OS's have this bug and for some reason RIM keeps ignoring us.

Im beginin to think they want us to hate SureType and go for QWERTY?

P.S. IT'S JUST A SIMPLE BUG TO CORRECT! JESUS RIM!!!!! C'MON!!!
